![]() I have never had any problems with it that I wouldn't expect from a machine of its advanced age. In addition to my tractor mounted blower, I have an old Ariens 24" that orig. Having some 30" 10hp 5 speed tank around here is like owning a lawn tractor to mow your townhouse. Not knocking anyones suggestions at all as most mentioned are awesome machines, just really overkill and kind of pointless for this area. Once every century we might get a sizeable blizzard (aka last year) but even still we had a cheesy Craftsman last year that was on its last leg and still went through everything that fell. A giant track driven machine is just going to irritate you and take up space if you have a small driveway, especially with the volume and frequency we get here in va. I've even seen a few nice pre junk Snapper ones on CL for sale lately. If you're looking for a used one, the Toro single stage machines (from 10+ years ago none of that new crap), Ariens, Honda and even Lawn Boy make pretty decent ones. 99% of whats on the market today is junk, the 1% that isnt is so overpriced its not worth buying. If you're looking for a new machine your (IMO) out of luck in all departments. We live about an hour outside of DC in the mountains and there honestly hasnt been anything in the last 20 years a single stage 2 cycle machine could not handle. ![]() ![]() Hate to say it but the majority of machines recommended are pretty overkill for VA. ![]()
